Morristown Beard School will be running a pilot program beginning in September, in which many of their advanced placement courses, (and a freshman English and freshman history class) students and teachers will use iPads as a core part of their daily curriculum and instruction.

Morristown Beard’s headmaster, Alex Curtis (pictured), said the school was on the lookout for something like the iPad — something that could sit flat on a desk, be portable and have the battery power to last an entire school day. The iPad is different from a laptop as there is no clam shell effect and eye contact is not lost as the iPad sits flat on a desk.
