Don’t miss the Arts Council of the Morris Area’s Giralda Music and Arts Festival on Sunday, June 24. Thanks to this year’s rain site – at the Mennen Sports Arena, 161 East Hanover Ave., Morristown – weather won’t matter at all. The entire event – from the concert by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to the hands-on arts activities, art show & sale and even picnics – can move indoors at the Morris County facility, in the event of inclement weather.
This year’s festival will includes children’s Art Activities (origami and other art tables), and an Art Show and Sale – not to mention desserts, beverages and snacks available for purchase from Kings Supermarkets, The Artist Baker and the vintage ice cream truck.
In keeping with Giralda tradition, there will be generous prizes for the most inventive picnics and the fabulous 50/50 raffle, which nets some lucky person a big cash prize (often over $1,000).
Gates open at 4 p.m. for activities and picnics (no pets, no BBQs) and the concert starts at 6 p.m. at Giralda Farms Corporate Park, Dodge Drive and Madison Ave. (Rt. 124), Madison. The rain site is located at The Mennen Sports Arena, 161 E. Hanover Ave., Morristown. Tickets cost $15 adults (16 and over); Children, $4; under 4 are free, if purchased in advance. If purchased at the gate, tickets cost $20 adults (16 and over), Children, $5; under 4 are free.
