The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey and the College of Saint Elizabeth presents a free, non-musical, theatrical rendition of “The Marriage of Figaro”, adapted from the play by Pierre Beaumarchais. This first event of the orchestra’s 2012 Summer Music Festival will take place at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 12, on the lawn at the College of Saint Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road, Morristown. The collaboration will feature Next Stage Ensemble of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in a performance appropriate for audiences of all ages.
Since the production will be out-of-doors, attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, lunches or snacks (no alcoholic beverages are permitted) to add to the enjoyment of this outside performance, which is free and open to the public. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the performance will be cancelled with no future rain date.
“The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey is excited to welcome The College of Saint Elizabeth and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey as collaborators in its Summer Festival. It is partnerships such as these that allow us to present such wonderful, family-friendly, free events such as ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ in our community,” said board president Jo Ann Bates.
