Bands play Morristown club in hope of finding bone marrow donor match for young boy
Jake Larkin, 6, shown with his mother, Kimberly Cluff. Jake is currently receiving specialized medical treatment in Milwaukee, while awaiting an urgently-needed bone marrow transplant after being afflicted with severe aplastic anemia earlier this year. The Dark Horse Lounge holds a special ‘Match Jake’ benefit show featuring four live bands this Sunday night. Attendees will be encouraged to get screened (with a painless cheek swab) to see if their bone marrow is a potential match with Jake’s. Photo courtesy of the Larkin family.
When the bands hit the stage Sunday night September 9th at Morristown’s Dark Horse Lounge, their mission will go beyond the usual task of making great music, to trying to save a 6-year-old boy’s life.
But the audience will play the most important part, as organizers are hopeful someone in attendance will provide a desperately-needed bone marrow donor match for Jake Larkin, who was afflicted with severe aplastic anemia earlier this year.
