Compatriots’ Day 5K on Saturday!

For anyone who has entered into the world of running, completing a race and crossing the finish line can be one of the best feelings ever. There’s no lie in a runner’s high. Your weeks, months, or even years of training to get to that moment, whether it be for a 5k or full marathon, seem to be completely worth all the pain and time. When photographers capture a race’s finish line, there should only ever be smiles or tears and only tears of joy. Photographers should never have to capture what took place at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon.

Jersey Club Sports and RFYL (Run For Your Life) has decided to host its first Saturday 5k Fun Run to show the world that no evil will ever stop the running community from doing what it loves and to show our support to those impacted by the Boston Marathon bombings. Whether you’re a beginner or expert runner, you’re more than welcome to join us on the Central Park of Morris County on Saturday morning for a 3.1 run, wearing your best running shirts or RED (or none, whatever) and bringing nothing but smiles. (Walking is allowed as well, and dogs, dogs are always welcome). We’re suggesting a donation of $20 (or whatever you can give) that will be collected by each participant and sent to a charity related to Boston Marathon if anyone has any other suggestions).

We’re anticipating 11 clubs across the country to join in. In addition to NJ, we will be working with sport leagues in NYC, Delaware, Charlotte, Seattle, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlottesville, Baltimore, Chicago, Miami and Boston.

TIME: Race starts at 10:30am.

LOCATION: Central Park of Morris County- http://www.morrisparks.net/aspparks/centralmain.asp

Please invite whomever you believe might want to participate in this run. If you have any questions, please e-mail the organizer, Deb at deb@jerseyclubsports.com
