New Jersey-Based Non-Profit Fundraising Organization Hosts 1ST Annual Event Bringing Together Leading Experts In Breast Cancer Research
CLIFTON, N.J., – Cure Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF), the non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization which has made tremendous strides assisting breast cancer research in the United States, recently made its mark abroad hosting the 1st annual “New Frontiers in Cancer Research” in Be’er Sheva, Israel.
The International Conference held at the esteemed Soroka Medical Center will serve as a springboard for CBCF’s efforts to expand its fundraising and awareness campaign oversees.
Co-Chaired by Dr. Larry Norton, the Deputy Physician-in-Chief for Breast Cancer Programs and the Medical Director of the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the event brought together leading experts in various fields of cancer treatment and research to review the results of advanced cancer research. CBCF is directly responsible for and is actively supporting through its fundraising two of the research projects prominently discussed – breast cancer and its microenvironment and bone metabolism and breast cancer.
CBCF has raised in excess of $4.5 million to assist the dedicated team of physicians and scientists at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and New Jersey and their national and international collaborators, including the research noted previously on bone metabolism and breast cancer at Soroka. All this work is coordinated by Dr. Norton, CBCF’s scientific advisor, who is leading the fight against breast cancer with groundbreaking work that addresses cases when the disease spreads to other parts of the body where it can currently be controlled, but rarely cured.
Joining Dr. Norton as Co-Chair for “New Frontiers in Cancer Research,” which focused on new ideas that are changing the definition of cancer, was Professor David Geffen, Chief of Breast Oncology Services at Soroka Medical Center.

This conference was an opportunity for well-renowned experts to join together and discuss similar methods of treatment and research that are often overlooked, but critically important. It was the perfect platform for us to bring the significant work we’ve been doing with Dr. Norton at home to the International stage.”
Since its inception in 2007, CBCF has emerged as a leader in breast cancer awareness by raising funds for the research initiative of Dr. Norton and the theory of Self-Seeding. The Clifton, N.J.-based organization hosts a number of fundraising events and informative seminars throughout the New York metropolitan area and is aggressively expanding its outreach throughout the United States and beyond.
