THE GODFATHER OF MORRISTOWN OPENS AT THE HIGHLANDS AT MORRISTOWN STATION

The Godfather of Morristown Ribbon Cutting

Downtown Morristown’s Newest Restaurant Features Seafood, Italian Fare and Brick Oven Pizza

The Godfather of Morristown, a popular seafood and brick oven pizza restaurant, held its official Grand Opening April 28th at The Highlands at Morristown Station.

Morristown mayor Timothy Dougherty joined Jerry Forte and other members of the restaurant’s ownership team to cut the ribbon on one of the town’s newest businesses. The ceremony took place on the restaurant’s spacious brick patio, one of Morristown’s most scenic settings for outdoor dining. Patrons enjoying their meals in the evening sunshine took a short break to partake in the festivities as the Mayor welcomed The Godfather of Morristown to the community.

“This restaurant is a great addition to Morristown,” Mayor Dougherty said. “With all of the different menu items they offer, there is something for everyone. It’s a great place to bring your family and it’s a great place to just stop and get some pizza. They have a beautiful patio and we are excited to have them here. I know the owners are very committed to Morristown.”

The mayor added that the opening of the 4,500+ square foot restaurant and the strong public response shows that Morristown remains an attractive destination for local, regional and national retailers.

“This is another successful retail opening in one of the new developments in town. Morristown is on the move. It’s a place where people want to do business.” Mayor Dougherty said.

The debut of The Godfather of Morristown comes on the heels of the successful opening of Cambridge Wines, which opened in September next door to the restaurant. Together, the two businesses comprise approximately 6,000 of the 8,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor of The Highlands at Morristown Station, a luxury 217-unit rental building developed in partnership by Roseland, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE: CLI), and Woodmont Properties. The restaurant is ideally located less than a block from the Morristown train station and two blocks from the Morristown Green.

Guests at the Grand Opening enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, a dessert bar with chocolate fondue fountain, live music and a free wine tasting, in addition to a special Restaurant Week menu. The restaurant already has a loyal following thanks to its popular location in East Hanover, which was frequented by many Morristown residents. The owners expect the restaurant’s location will benefit them as well, with a highly-visible store front and proximity to the train station, all in an area with a lot of foot traffic, on the ground floor of a luxury rental building filled with potential customers.

“We had a lot of customers at our East Hanover location who lived in Morristown, and we always loved the location, so when we had the opportunity to expand we jumped at it,” said Jared Gottheimer, a partner at The Godfather of Morristown. “So far, the response from the community has been overwhelming. We are meeting new customers every day and our business continues to grow. We look forward to being a part of the Morristown community for a long time.”

Godfather of Morristown serves an extensive menu of favorites, highlighted by its famous seafood and brick oven pizza. A full selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, antipasti, chicken, steak, chops and more is also available. The restaurant’s pizza by the slice offerings include traditional toppings and a variety of gourmet specialty slices. Free parking for customers is available inside the Highlands at Morristown Station garage on Lafayette Avenue.
