Free Country Line Dancing Event Set for Morristown on July 28

Mayo Performing Arts Center will host a free evening of country line dancing in Morristown on Tuesday, July 28, at 6 p.m. The event returns as part of the venue’s Arts in the Community series and is open to dancers of every skill level, from complete beginners to seasoned regulars.

Leading the evening is dance instructor and DJ Paul Stoddard, who has spent more than 30 years teaching country line and partner dance. Over that time he has guided over 10,000 students, ranging from first timers to competitive dancers, and is known for a teaching style that is clear, welcoming, and fun. Stoddard began DJing in 2021, and his sets blend contemporary country hits with classic favorites, drawing on his understanding of music flow and dancer timing to keep the floor moving.

Stoddard is also one of the directors of the Big Apple Country Dance Festival, an annual dance weekend held at the Hyatt Regency Morristown that features country partner dancing, line dance, and
