Powerflow Yoga to Hold Public Grand Opening on Oct. 9 in Downtown Morristown

Powerflow Yoga will host a grand opening on Oct. 9 in Morristown at 3 p.m.

Powerflow Yoga, the heated, Vinyasa-style yoga studio with locations in Chatham and Livingston, will host a public Grand Opening celebration at its new Morristown location on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.

Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty will join the studio’s owner and other local dignitaries for a ribbon cutting ceremony officially opening the new facility located at 40 Market Street on the ground floor of The Metropolitan at 40 Park.  Members of the public are invited to attend the celebration, tour the facility, meet staff members and enjoy light refreshments. Guests will also have the opportunity to sign up for a 10-class package for $135 — a 25% discount off the normal price.

“We’re excited to bring Powerflow Yoga to Morristown,” said Jerry LePore, the studio’s owner.  “Morristown has been on my radar for a couple of years as we’ve had a growing number of Morristown residents coming to our studio in Chatham. We did some research and saw that Morristown offered a large customer base for us, including a budding population of young professionals. There is a lot of growth and development going on in town and the time to open up couldn’t be any better.”

Mr. LePore chose the street-level retail space within the Shops on the Green because it offered a unique 2,000 square-foot space in a location with a lot of foot traffic right in the heart of downtown Morristown.

“It came down to finding the right location within Morristown and we believe we have it here at 40 Market Street,” Mr. LePore added.

The Shops on the Green anchors the 76-unit 40 Park luxury condominium building and the 130-unit Metropolitan at 40 Park rental building. The retail is highly visible and easily accessible from Market Street, the Morristown Green and the 40 Park public piazza which leads to an enclosed public parking garage.  Other tenants currently include Roots Steak House, Urban Table, Starbucks, Qdoba Mexican Grill and the AT&T Store.

“With a respected reputation and strong local following, Powerflow Yoga is an excellent addition to downtown Morristown and the Shops on the Green,” said Debra Tantleff, a Vice President of Development at Roseland Property Company, which is developing 40 Park and The Metropolitan at 40 Park in partnership with Woodmont Properties. “They’ll be able to benefit from the extensive residential base and abundant daytime workforce prevalent in downtown Morristown, while also complementing the well-rounded retail line-up we’ve assembled here.”

Powerflow Yoga brings a unique style of yoga to Morristown that accommodates skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Most classes will be taught in a heated environment — with temperatures reaching up to 98 degrees — which accelerates the opening of the pores externally.  Classes will be held throughout the day, from morning to evening, to allow people with varying schedules to participate. Styles that incorporate the Vinyasa flow, such as Jivamukti, Anusara and Ashtanga, will be included. There will also be classes that will focus on meditation and relaxation, to offer a balance to the vigorous, full-body workout the Vinyasa style provides.
