Jon Papp, a mechanical engineer from Morristown, came close to winning $100,000 on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” but was done in by a tax question.
Papp did win $25,000 on the show for an episode that was to have aired locally on WABC-TV at 12:20 p.m. but was preempted by storm coverage. The show was scheduled to air at 1:35 a.m. Saturday.
The question that stumpted Papp was: “Double Irish” and “Dutch Sandwich” are types of what? A: Chess strategies; B: Suspension bridges; C: Soccer maneuvers; D: Tax loopholes.
Papp guessed the answer to be “B,” but the correct answer was “D.”
