Toothpicks: Not Just for Plaque Anymore

575f076c55d7c.imagevia The Morris News Bee – From Friday, July 1 to Wednesday, Aug. 31 the Morris Museum will host “Toothpick World,” an exhibition showcasing the work of toothpick artist Stan Munro featuring miniature toothpick replicas of landmarks from around the globe.

With just toothpicks and Elmer’s Glue, artist Stan Munro constructs precise 1:164 scale reproductions of world-renowned structures. Featuring more than 25 works, “Toothpick World” will include iconic American buildings such as the White House, the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower.

The exhibition will also showcase internationally celebrated structures like the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, and Stonehenge. Local landmarks including Yankee Stadium and the Statue of Liberty will also be on view.

In conjunction with “Toothpick World,” the Morris Museum will hold a “Toothpick Workshop” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 for ages 5 and older. Further program and ticket information is available by calling 973-971-3706 or online at morrismuseum.org.
