Pick or smash pumpkins at a mainstay farm in Morristown through October.
Apple-picking season is in full swing across the Northeast, giving kids and families the opportunity to enjoy the fall foliage and the fruits of their labor. But for those who aren’t in love with the idea of plucking bushels of apples from trees, there are pumpkins to pick or chuck.
Wightman’s Farms in Morristown, which has been offering pick-your-own apples and pumpkins for years, not to mention the peaches and nectarines through the summer, is offering pumpkin slingshots for $2 for kids. It’s a way for kids to test their strength and have some fun. In addition to the fruit picking, the farm offers hayrides around the farm.
The festivities happen every weekend from now through the end of October. 10 AM to 5 PM. Wightman’s is located on Route 202, 1111 Mt. Kemble Avenue in Morristown. For more information, contact the farm at (973) 425-9819 or www.wightmansfarms.com.
