Connor Lade of Morristown has signed a new contract with Red Bull New York. The 5-foot-4 “home-grown” defender made 26 appearances, starting 22 matches in his rookie season, plus two more playoff games.
Terms of the deal were not released. However, Lade made $33,750 guaranteed as a rookie according to the Major League Soccer Players Union.
Lade will train with Sevilla FC in Spain’s La Liga from Dec. 13 to 23.
“This is an excellent opportunity for a young player to train with an established European club like Sevilla,” Red Bulls sporting director Andy Roxburgh said in a press release. “We hope that Connor benefits from this stint and are looking forward to have him back in preseason camp when it starts in January.”
